How Do I Know If My Employer Is Compensating Me Unfairly?

Depending on the steps that your employer has taken to deduct your pay, you may need to start keeping track of your own hours to cross-reference with your paystub. If you find confirmation that they are deducting your hours, the first step is to request an explanation.     Meal & Rest Breaks

    The state of Washington has laws granting workers meal and rest breaks. For every four hours worked, workers are allowed a paid 10-minute break, which should be given before three hours have been worked. A 30-minute meal break should be given to employees who work more than five hours, with the break being given within the two to five hour shift time.
